Congresswoman Dina Titus sits on the House Oversight Committee for The Department of Homeland Security and several others.  One of its Subcommittees is, Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management, of which Dina Titus is the "Chairwoman."

The willful failures by Congresswoman Dina Titus go out the door and around the block - but nothing can be worse than the federal government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic killing tens of thousands of people around the world.  President Trump isn't the only one to blame for the totally inept response time we're witnessing nationwide - some of the blame can be squared placed on shoulders of Congresswoman Titus as the "Chairwoman" of the House Subcommittee which oversees the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) an agency notorious for ineptness - as we all witnessed 15 years ago during Hurricane Katrina back in 2005.  To be forewarned, is to be forearmed.

Need I go into detail of the importance of preparedness for agencies tasked with keeping the American people safe?  Congresswoman Titus has done little more than phone it in since her election to the 1st Congressional District of Nevada, back in 2013.  How inept does she have to be to be removed from office by the citizenry of CD #1?   How many Nevadans, Americans have to die painfully and alone because of her continued ineptitude?   Will it be you or your family members, your friends, co-workers?

So, don't go jumping up and down blaming only Donald Trump for what we're witnessing with no PPE's, or proper functioning ventilators and the distribution of the ones that do work properly to the areas of the country were they're desperately needed - right now - because, as Trump has stated very clearly in his daily morning briefings, that in his warped mind the federal government is the option of last resort.

Trump has kicked the can back to the states and their congressional representatives to do the heavy lifting.  His dismissive position is if they weren't prepared for this, then don't blame him - because it was their jobs, not his, to see to it that America was properly prepared for these kinds of situations.

Below is just one of the Subcommittee's sworn responsibilities that the COVID-19 pandemic clearly falls into:

With emphasis, Congresswoman Titus is the "Chairwoman" of the subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management.

The Subcommittee’s jurisdiction of federal management of emergencies and natural disasters includes Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) oversight and activities relating to disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery, as well as programs relating to first responders.  These activities are authorized by the Stafford Act, the Homeland Security Act of 20002, Title VI of the Homeland Security Appropriations Act of 2007, and the “Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act” (PKEMRA).  The Subcommittee is also responsible for the all-hazards nature of the National Preparedness System (“NPS”) and a national preparedness goal that is consistent with the National Incident Management System (“NIMS”) and the National Response Framework (“NRF”).  These programs, plans, and directives form the basis of the national approach to emergency preparedness and response.

Congresswoman Titus can't even attempt to feign ignorance to the COVID-19 devastation that started in China back in December of last year - as she also sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.  It's her job to have known. Her committee assignment on that House Committee is, "Asia, the Pacific and Nonproliferation" - well, preventing a pandemic from sweeping the world (whose origin was Asia) qualifies as nonproliferation - it doesn't have to be nuclear to take millions of lives on Earth. The pandemic of 1918 killed 675,000 Americans and possibly as many as 100 million worldwide.

I knew what was happening in Wuhan, China, Dina Titus should have known as well. I knew from all the scuttlebutt coming out of Asia news outlets in late December.  Her job isn't roofing and siding, storm windows installation - her job titles on both the Homeland Security and Foreign Affairs Committees says she should have known.

And, as Chairwoman on the Subcommittee for Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management - where is her hazard pay legislation for those black and brown front-line workers risking their lives daily as grocery story cashiers, food delivery drivers, sanitation workers, gig workers and on down the line.  They're more exposed to COVID-19 than the doctors and nurses who are absent the PPE's they need to help the sick and the dying.  These brave front-line workers deserve hazard pay for their sacrifices exposing themselves and their families to COVID-19 each and every day.

That committees authorization states:

("the authorization and oversight of programs promoting economic development in communities suffering economic distress; the authorization and oversight of programs addressing the federal management of emergencies and disasters; and a variety of measures affecting homeland security, including the all-hazards nature of the federal response to disasters and the Federal Protective Service").

Congressional District #1 is the poorest district in Clark County - that more than qualifies CD#1 as, "a community in economic distress."  Dina Titus has been in government for nearly 1/3 of a 100 years - 32 years to be exact - and she's been a monumental failure at every step of the way. In this hour of our national distress Congresswoman Titus was expected to rise to the occasion - but, she's done no such thing.  It's well past time to send her into [forced] retirement.

It's time to issue Congresswoman Dina Titus her walking papers.    The Color of COVID-19

This is legislation to provide #Med4All - that we so desperately need - now more than ever before.  But, Congresswoman Dina Titus doesn't think as we do - as her co-sponsorship for the vitally important legislation is no place to be found.    Click on the link.    https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/1384/cosponsors?searchResultViewType=expanded&KWICView=false
